Charter yacht operations generate a heavy daily administrative burden — ship’s logs, crew hours, fuel records, guest manifests, fishing reports, maintenance tasks, and compliance documents. Managing everything across multiple systems or on paper led to missed deadlines, incomplete records, compliance risks, and valuable time lost to administration instead of running the charter. The challenge was to consolidate all of this into one reliable, easy-to-use mobile solution that captains and crew could depend on every day in the demanding environment of French Polynesia.

Native App Development
We built dedicated native apps for both iOS and Android using Laravel PHP as the core framework - purpose-built applications for each platform, not a cross-platform compromise. Optimised for use on phones and tablets, the apps are designed to perform reliably in the demanding conditions of charter operations - on the water, in remote locations, and across the full range of devices the Wolf Yachting crew rely on.
Laravel API & Backend
We built the entire platform on Laravel — a deliberate choice for long-term scalability. A unified RESTful API powers both the iOS and Android apps from a single codebase, with PostgreSQL handling the structured operational data across vessels, equipment, inventory, and users. AWS cloud hosting provides the reliability that operational software demands.
Ship’s Log & Fishing Log
The core of the app is the digital ship’s log - capturing operation type, crew hours, passenger manifests, fuel levels, machinery hours, departure and arrival data, and digital signatures. Alongside it sits the fishing log, tracking catch positions via GPS, species, catch scorecards, moon phase, and tide conditions - giving charter operators a detailed record that builds in value over time.
Maintenance, Documents & Compliance
A full maintenance management module handles work orders, photo attachments, priority assignment, job approval workflows, and scheduled or meter-based recurring maintenance. Ship documents are stored centrally with expiration tracking and automated alerts. The Duane Report module pulls data from the ship’s log to generate the formatted customs declaration required for French Polynesian operations - exported directly to Excel.
